From New Jersey Turnpike (North or South)
- Turn off at Exit 9, Route 18 North (west). After toll booths, bear to the right; follow signs for "Route 18 North - New Brunswick."
- Continue along Route 18 North past the exit for "Route 27"
and "Rutgers University - George Street" and proceed over the Raritan River on
the John Lynch Memorial Bridge (approx. 3.7 miles). (NOTE: You should ignore the
the "George Street Rutgers University" exit!)
- On the other side of the river proceed straight at the traffic
light onto Metlars Lane.
- Go to next light at the intersection of Metlars Lane and Davidson Road and turn (left turn) onto Davidson Road.
- Go down Davidson Road (past the Rutgers Federal Credit Union on the left) until you come to Bartholomew Road (Winkler and McCormick Halls will be on your left) and make a left onto Bartholomew Road.
- Follow Batholomew Road (past the Busch Campus Center on your right) until you come to a four-way stop sign at the intersection of Brett Road and Batholomew Road.
- Make a right at the 4-way stop sign on to Brett Road.
- Brett Road will curve to the left and the CoRE Building (seven story dark brown brick structure) will be on your right at far end of parking lot.
- Park anywhere in lot #64.
- DIMACS is located on the fourth floor of CoRE building.
From Route 18 (or Route 1):
NOTE: If you're travelling on Route 1 - exit onto Route 18 and
proceed as follows:
- Follow Route 18 north (or west - signs differ but mean the same)
to New Brunswick.
- You will cross the Raritan River on the John A. Lynch Memorial
Bridge, and should move to the right-hand lane of route 18.
- Cross River Road at the traffic light and proceed straight up Metlar's Lane.
- Follow directions to campus from the New Jersey Turnpike.
From Garden State Parkway (North or South)
Southbound - Coming from Northern New Jersey
- Turn off at Exit 129 for the New Jersey Turnpike and head
south.
- Follow directions to campus from the New Jersey Turnpike.
Northbound - Coming from Southern New Jersey
- Turn off at Exit 105 and follow signs for Route 18 north.
- After approximately 24 miles you will pass the entrance for
the New Jersey Turnpike, continue on Route 18 north.
- Follow directions to campus from the New Jersey Turnpike.
From Route 287 (North)
- Turn off at exit 9 River Road, Rte. 514, Bound Brook/Highland Park.
- Turn right off ramp. You will be on River Road.
- At the 5th traffic light (this does not include
the "Fire Zone" light), turn left onto Metlars Lane.
- Follow directions to campus from the New Jersey Turnpike.
From Route 287 (South)
- Turn off at exit 8 (southbound) for Centennial Ave., Highland Park/Middlesex.
- Turn left at the traffic light.
- At the 2nd traffic light turn right onto Hoes Lane
.
- Follow Hoes Lane to the end of the road (bear right).
- You will now be on Metlars Lane. Turn right at the light at the intersection of Davidson Road.
- Follow directions to campus from the New Jersey Turnpike.
BY PLANE:
The nearest airport is Newark International. If you fly there, you can either
1) rent a car; 2) take a shuttle bus (State Shuttle - 800-427-3207 cost is
$37.00 per person from airport to Four Points Sheraton Hotel); or 3) take a taxi
(cost is approximately $40 plus tolls plus tip).
From Kennedy airport, you can take the Princeton Airporter (call 800-468-9996 for reservations) to the Hilton Hotel in East Brunswick (cost is $29.00) and
then take a taxi to the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Piscataway.
From LaGuardia airport, you can either rent a car or take public transportation to New York City and continue on to Rutgers in New Brunswick or the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Piscataway.
From LONG ISLAND or NEW YORK CITY AIRPORTS - BY CAR:
- Take the Verrazzano Bridge to the Goethals Bridge to the New
Jersey Turnpike and proceed as above.
From NEWARK AIRPORT - BY CAR:
- Take NJ Turnpike (Toll Road) south from the airport.
- Get off turnpike at Exit 10. Take Route 287 north and proceed as
above.
By TRAIN:
- Train service to New Brunswick is provided by Amrak and New Jersey
Transit. This may require changing trains in Trenton, NJ (if you're heading north by
train) or Penn Station, NY (if you're heading south from the New York City area).

-2222 from New Jersey or from out of state: 1-201-460-8444.
- Outside the train station in New Brunswick you may take a cab to
the CoRE building, Busch Campus, Rutgers University (Metlars Lane to Brett Road).
- or take a campus bus FREE, in about 10-20 minutes. Buses
leave at 10 minute intervals. To reach a campus bus stop from the New Jersey
Transit bus station on Albany Street, walk west on Albany Street, then take the
first right onto George Street and walk two blocks to the first traffic light.
Turk left onto Hamilton street, walk on eblock and you will see the campus bus
shelter on your right across College Avenue. To reach the bus stop from the
train station at Albany and Easton, walk uphill on Easton Avenue and turn right
onto Hamilton street at the second traffic light. Walk one block and you will
see the campus bus shelter on your left. Take an "A", "C" or "H" bus marked
to Busch Campus and get off at the Hill Center.
By BUS:
- The New Jersey Transit runs convenient express buses from New
York City to New Brunswick. These buses leave the Port Authority Bus Terminal (8th
Avenue and 42nd Street) on the hour and a half hour, and reach
downtown New Brunswick in 55 minutes. Purchase tickets at window 24, 25, or 26, and
board buses at Gate 420. For information call (908) 249-1103.
- Outside the bus terminal in New Brunswick, you may take a cab
to the CoRE building, Busch Campus, Rutgers University (Metlars Lane to Brett Road).
